Jeanette Bakker

Registered Massage Therapist

About Jeanette

Jeanette studied horticulture and biology and was a teacher in The Netherlands before commencing her studies in Massage Therapy in Toronto. A lifelong interest in the functioning of the human body led Jeanette to her second career as an RMT. She graduated in 2005 with Honours from Elmcrest College for Applied Health Sciences (now Bryan College) and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Jeanette’s focus is on the individual, facilitating and supporting her clients to help them achieve their goals of pain and stress relief through massage therapy. She incorporates a wide variety of techniques into her treatments, including deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point (knots) therapy and joint mobilizations.

Jeanette’s inquisitive nature and passion for helping clients gain long lasting relief from their chronic pain resulted in her furthering her studies and adding many more techniques to her “toolbox”. She studied Craniosacral Therapy, Head Injury and Concussion, Soft Tissue Release, Visceral Manipulation and a variety of other techniques. In 2015 Jeanette completed her Diplomate in Osteopathic Manipulative Theory & Practice studies from the Osteopathic College of Ontario. She also gained more knowledge studying Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction and Lumbopelvic Pathomechanics under Dr. Jerry Hesch PT from the Hesch Institute in Aurora, Colorado. Jeanette believes (and enjoys) in lifelong education for the benefit of her clients.
