WHAT IS PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is the discipline focused on assessing and treating the musculature, ligaments, tendons, connective tissue and bones of the lower pelvis. Pelvic floor dysfunction commonly affects women (about 1 in 4) as well as men. Specialized physiotherapists may assist in concerns such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, increased pelvic floor muscle tone or weakness, fecal incontinence, low back pain, post-surgical rehabilitation and other related conditions.
Physiotherapists are educated through a two year masters program, and are licensed by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO). With additional training, a physiotherapist may practice pelvic floor physiotherapy by rostering with the CPO.
We're happy to be the first clinic to offer Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in Paris Ontario.
